He was born in Balkah and is the descendant of Hazrat Umar bin Al Khataab. His nickname was Abu Ishaq. He was given khilafat from Fuzail bin Ayaaz, Syedeena Baqir, & Uwais Qarni. He was adopted son of the king of Balkah whom he later succeed to the throne.
The revolution of his life occurred once while sleeping at night he heard footsteps on the roof of the palace. When he asked; ' Who is there?', a voice replied: I'm searching for my camel.'

The arrow of Divine Love pierced Ibraheem Adham's heart. All of sudden he renounced the throne and set out into the wilderness and took up residence in the mountain. He made a living by selling firewood. Later on he migrated to Makkah Mukaraamah where he became the student of Fuzail Bin Ayaaz. Junaid Baghdadi praised him.
There are different views regarding the year of his death. According to Hafiz Bin Hajar, Hazrat Ibraheem passed away in the year 161 or 162 A. H. His famous khalifa was Huzaifa Al Murashi.
