In-depth Analysis of the Salafi/Wahabi (a.k.a. Khawarij) fitna

Some people including Ulama think that our differences with Ahle Hadith/Salafi is limited to a few issues of Taqlid, Hands in Salah, Number of Talaq, or Where is Allah Tala. Please be Aware that it's more deeper then this and it's about time that we understand this group clearly. This Nobody-Sinner has collected various articles from askimam.org and Abu Jafar Al Hanbali who have finally come out and clear the air about this modern day Fitna. Also, I have provided links from various website on certain issues that we have with them. May Allah Tala make it easy.

No body is blind to the fact that Ulama have differences of opinion but the fact of the matter is that recently this group has shown it's true color by attacking the two school of Aqidah Schools (Ashari & Maturidi) which majority of the Muslims adhere to, Elders of Deoband, and Jamah Al Tableegh. Enough is enough.

Falsehood has many characteristics but two of them really stand out: It's either very Emotional (Sabties a.k.a. Shia-ism) or really Dry in nature (Khawarij).

Please note that Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij fitna is not new but it goes around and resurfaces every century or so.

Fact of the matter is that Salafi do Taqleed of anyone but Imam Azzam Abu Hanifa. Infact they claim to understand Imam Abu Hanfia's statment better then respected himself. As much as they want to deny, In Aqidah/Fiqh, they BLINDLY do Taqleed of Hafiz Ibn Tamiah, Ibn Qayim, Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahab An Najdi, Jamal ud Deen Afgani, Muhammed Abduhu, Rashid Raza, Al Baani, Ibn Baaz, Al Uthmaain, etc..........

WARNING: Some of might claim that some of our Ulama/Elders of Deoband have held good or neutral opinions about the names mentioned above. This notion can be dispeled by understandting the follwoing:

1. Ulama-e-Deoband have good and neutral opinions about others because the SALALLAHUALHI WAS SALAAM has ordered us to generally keep opinion about fellow Muslim. With that said, our ulama did refute the Salafis and labeled this group to be extremist. Shaykh Ibn Abideen, Alama Zahid Al Khawtri ( best friend of Maulana Yusuf Binnori) and had Ijaza from Hazrat Thanvi), Muhajir Madani Shaykh Khaleel Ahmed Sharanpuri and many others refuted this cult long time ago agree.

2. Please note that by reading a few books, pamphlets, and fatwas by the names above can't get these controversial/questionable Ulamas absolved from the errors the've committed. This nobody sinner request those who are well versed in Quran and Hadith to read books on Aqidah written by these controversial/questionable Ulamas.

3. Once again, Ulama of Deoband have always kept neutral opinions about other Islamic groups including the above controversial/questionable Ulamas whom Salafi follow blindly but we didn't start the fight, we have to finish it.

According to Askimam.com, The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij, who call themselves Salafis, are a group who had appeared in the last few centuries and hold beliefs contrary to the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah. They try to pull the wool over our eyes by affiliating themselves with the Salaf (Sahabah and Tabi'en) but in effect their beliefs and practices are completely in contradictory with those of the Salaf.

Before reading further know that today's Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij are not hanbali as they have been claming for years. They use hanbali mazhab as a mask to trick fellow Muslims and they use Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal whenever they have to promote their deviant agenda by taking him out of context. According to Abu Jafar Al Hanbali, Out of the population of 24.3 million people in the Arabian Peninsula, perhaps as many as 2,000,000 are upon the Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij cult and methodology. There are estimated to be perhaps another 3,000,000 of them around the world in such places as the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Algeria Pakistan and other countries. Although such a small sect, their organisation and logistical skills with the money taken from the petroleum boom have spread their periodicals, books and pamphlets throughout the world, giving the appearance that they are more numerous than they truly are in reality.

The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij as an organization has many beliefs, but we are mainly interested in those that are in clear contravention of what Muslim Orthodoxy have believed in the major areas that border on salvation and other crucial doctrines:

1. Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij does not share the belief with Muslim Orthodoxy in that Allah is above matter and not resembling His Creation in any manner. Allah is implicitly held (and in some cases explicitly) by Salafi theologians to be an exalted man sitting on a large chair. His Attributes are all literal according to the language and how we know and understand them. Therefore to the Salafis, the Lord sits, stands climbs up and climbs down, etc and is the same as a human being.

2.They attribute a hand, leg, face etc to Allah Ta'ala, while the illustrious Ulama of the Ahlus sunnah wal Jama'ah hold fast to the belief that Allah knows best the meaning of these words. The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij take them on there apparent meaning , claiming that interpreting the Quran is not permissible, while we say that Allah knows best what it means or at times we interpret it in a suitable manner.

3. -The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij reject the permissibility of Tawassul of using a deceased person as a intermediary in dua, while we hold that it is permissible.

4. The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij reject the Ambiyaa being alive in their graves.

5. The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij hold that Allah is really resting on His throne in the sky, while we hold that this is from the Mutashabihaat.(Those unclear statements hose meaning is only known to Allah).

6. The Ulama of the Ahlus sunnah wal Jamaa'ah disagree with the destruction of numerous blessed historical landmarks by the Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij

7.The Ulama of the Ahlus sunnah wal Jamaa'ah hold that taqleed of one mazhab is necessary, while the Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij generally do not adhere to a mazhab and claim that following one imam blindly is Bidah and shirk.

8. Allowing Non Muslims forces inside the Arabian Peninsula and justfying (by using Qiyas & Taweel which they accuse other muslims of using) the salughter of Muslims in Iraq and imprisonment of many Ulama & Noble people in the Arabian Peninsula.

9. Wrongly translating or taking out of context classical Islamic books like Sahih Al Bukahri. They've turned Madinah University and Umul Qura into Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij brain washing center.

9. Before reading further, if not already, please know certain facts and terminology:
Like four schools of thoughts (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafai, Hanbali), we also have 3 School of Aqidah (Ashari, Maturdi, Hanbali) which makes up the Aqidah of Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamah today. Traditionally, Maliki & Shafai have followed Ashari School (Imam Abul Hasan Al Ashari) and Hanafi have followed Maturidi (Imam Abul Hasan Matuirdi).

The Salafi/Wahabies a.k.a. Khawarij have been attacking the Ahlus Sunnah i.e.the Ash'ari and Maturidi schools of aqeedah, for decades. As they have adopted an aqeedah that was only held by the deviates of the past, they attempt futilely to attribute their baseless aqeedah to the Four illustrious Imams of Fiqh and other salaf who are pure from their slander. In fact they even went further and even attribute it to the Imam of the ahlus sunnah, Abul Hasan al-Ash'ari! To fulfil their devious plan, they have mass-produced and distributed spurious copies of the great works of Imam Ash'ari (such as Al-Ibanah and al-Maqalaat al-Islamia) filled with their false beliefs. Thus the Ulama of the Ahlus Sunnah have, for hundreds of years,been compiling works defending the aqeedah of our illustrious Imams. Hafiz ibn Asakir wrote Tabyeen Kizbil Muftari in defence of Abul Hasan al-Ash'ari, Sibt ibnul Jawzi and Taqiyud deen Hisni wrote Daf'u Shubahit Tashbi and Daf'u Shubahi man Tashabbaha respectively in defense of Imam Ahmed, Al-Bayadhi wrote Isharatul Maram in defence of Imam Abu Hanafi etc. (askimam.org)

Shaikh Salama Azzami Qudhai mentioned a scale granted by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) by which we could judge who are on the right in Aqeedah and make up the Ahlus sunnah wal jama'ah. The measure is the majority of the Ummah ie. the majority of the ummah would always be on aqeedah of the ahlus sunnah wal jama'ah. (askimam.org)

Now if we take a quick survey of the Muslims in the world we would find that while the Wahabis make up a minority, even in the Arab lands, with probably only Saudia containing a majority of them, the remainder of the ummah are on the Ashari and Maturidi Aqeedah eg.200 million Muslims in Indonesia, about 400 million in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, another 150 million in China, Malaysia etc, hundreds of millions in Africa, millions in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine etc; all these are ashari's and maturidi's who make up the ahlus sunnah wal jama'ah. We thus have no need to fear their baseless arguments.

It is necessary for us to be on our guard against them as they are very active propagators of their Baatil and false beliefs.
