Matka is a J2ME application that runs on any MIDP cellphone. The application is a simulator of the Matka game where you can place a bet on any number from 0-9. The prototype basically demonstrates communication with a server running ASP and transmitting data via XML. The client application is coded with the Java Wireless Toolkit. Thrid-party XML parsers (KXML and KXML2) have both been used to demo their usage. There is a detailed Readme on how to install Matka on a device and how to setup a development system and the server. ::source: Blabbermouth --: simulates a telephone voice mail system, It uses a text-to-speech system for voice prompts and records audio in Mp3 format and plays it back. Data is stored in a MySQL database, This was developed as my Software Engineering Course project. ::source:: Snapshots: An Experiment with Web Services --: For my Emerging Technology class I deceided to work with Web Services and various Platforms. Snapshots is a Desktop Weather reporter. There are 3 versions that I developed. One with VB 6.0, one with VB.NET and one with eVB for my Pocket PC. The Pocket PC thing WoWeD me out! and .NET is so delightfully simple to use.. Waiting to get my hands on .NET 2003. ::source:: SMS Server ---: Part of GIMP. This module is my resposibility and my favourite, i decided to explore deeper. The Theory: A GSM mobile is hooked up to a computer(SMSSrv). When any user (from any PC) wants to send an outgoing SMS, the message is stored in the database (Oracle). A proggy (SMS Server) on SMSSrv will keep scaning the DB for messages and when it finds any it send 'em out. The proggy also listens for incoming SMS's from the phone. It breaks up the message and looks for keywords telling it what actions are to be take. Like 'Update Task Status', 'Send Worklist for Today'. And then makes the changes in the DB and/or sends a SMS back to the employee. What i would like to do is port this code to work with a CDMA phone. But unfortunately CDMA phone companies hold the tech. details close to their vests, while GSM compaies use a well know standard for communicating with their phnoes. ---:Tools Used: VB, MFBus, Nokia Data Suite, Oracle [e-mail me for the code] GIMP ---: Game King Internal Managment. A software me and a team of 5 are developing for 'Game King'. GIMP is a highly customised version of Microsoft Projects. It also includes a lot of new technology. There's an SMS server which sends out SMSs to the employees Mobile when he/she is assigned a task. There is a fingerprint device to record daily in/out and attendace. Was the wining entry for our college technology fest, InfoStrat. Has 3 Terminals. Waiter, Kitchen & Counter. Handles Invetory, employees, home delivery and prints bills. Rasoi 2003 is currently being used at 'Ambrosia' a restraunt in Ahmedabad. Wardrobe Organiser -- Made this for a clothes freak I knew. Was meant for her to catalogue her clother.. her obsession. Shell File Opener -- Show how to open an external program (here MS Word) from VB using the shell. Used this for the autorun in the CD I created for my 'End User Support' Assignment Design Your PC -- Made this for my Database Assignment. It shows the prices for each component and lets you design your PC. Of course the prices are in Rupees and are a few months old (Nov '02) Online Testing -- Is a testing software. Just modify the database and put in your own questions. The design is very crude. Was one of my first big projects. Instant Messenger Design -- Was supposed to be a demo for a potential customer but the deal didn't fall through. Its just the shell of an IM Case Records -- A proggy I did for a doctor pal of mine to organise her patient case records Number System Convertor -- Converts from Decimal Number System to Binary, Octal and Hexadecimal Number Systems. Cards -- An experiment with randomization.. The Poker Game. Hangman -- Something i did quite a while back. The coding style is bad and primitive but it works. Steganography -- This isnt mine.
