Auron may be tough man on the exterior, but once a friendship is cultivated with him, you can be sure that it will be hard to break.
Auron as a young man was impressionable and a bit more trusting than he is now, as an older man of thirty-five. His relationship with Braska was a strong one. He would have done anything for him and not felt a twinge of regret. Auron’s friendship with Jecht was also a strong one, although not one as ‘loyal’. Jecht was an odd choice of a friend for Auron, but they were thrown together more by chance and some of Braska’s engineering than anything else. However, both grew closer to each other and enjoyed each other’s company
Auron is a father figure towards Yuna, and she
remembers Auron taking care of her when she was a
child. He is much more softer with her than with anyone
else. Auron always refers to her as ‘Lady Yuna’, as a sign
of repect, but does call her without a title when things
get personal.
Auron and Tidus are a volatile pair as Tidus is
always bursting out about his father and Auron refuses
to give him a straight answer. I see Auron as trying
to fix up the ‘crybaby attitude’ that Jecht forced onto
his son, and Tidus is not very close to Auron despite
the years spent together. Instead, all of his focus is
on hating his father. How productive.
Auron and Rikku are always seen as a cute pair
(no romance intended) because of the extreme differences
in age, sex (obviously), and attitude. She is always up
for a fight and bouncing around while he is usually charged
with calming her down and giving her a sense of security.
Auron and Lulu share some understanding between
them about painful and hidden pasts. They do not talk
often and prefer to have their own private time.
Auron and Kimahri are close comrades.
This may be because Kimahri had found him when he was wounded
ten years ago, but since they are both hardened warriors, that
may not be the only reason. Both share an understanding that
no one else has and Auron says goodbye to Kimahri by giving a
friendly punch to the chest.
Auron is the leader of the group of guardians and summoner. He is their guide and provides an source of hope and strength, much like Yuna.
